Millesgården is more than a museum; it is also a lovely, relaxing park and garden with an unparalleled view of Stockholm. Examples of Carl Milles’ sculptures can be found in the far corners of the globe. Millesgården was the home of sculptor Carl Milles and his wife, Olga. With remarkable dedication, they first built and then continuously beautified the home. Carl Milles was also a renowned art collector and todays visitors can enjoy his collection of Greek and Roman antiquities. With its award-winning art gallery and unique works of art, Millesgården is an entity unto itself. In 2008 it celebrated its 100th birthday! The artist’s home, which is the foundation of the museum, was built in 1908.

Rosenterrassen is situated on one of the many terraces of Millesgården. The building, which today houses the restaurant, was previously the home of the gardener Ernst Sandell. The food is made using fresh seasonal herbs from the herb garden sourranding the terrace. Lunches and home-made delicious dishes are served according to the culinary tradition of Olga and Carl Milles who were both very interested in food. It is open summer and winter as the museum.
